The ACT | UJ Arts & Culture Conference invites arts educators (formal and non-formal), art education students, arts trainers, art centre facilitators, arts policy makers and students studying education, education policy or art policy or arts based subjects to apply for sponsored passes, made available by the Arts & Culture Trust, to attend the 2-day Conference in Johannesburg on 27th and 28th July 2017.
Titled #CreativeUprising, the conference is described as an ‘un-conference’ that is about unlearning for change looking at the current state of art education in South Africa and its possible future. The conference will use performance art, indigenous music, applied theatre and storytelling to question how we learn, who we are teaching and what we are teaching young South African creatives. Young females are especially encouraged to apply and preference will be given to art educators and art education students. Successful delegates will be contacted directly via email by the 10th July 2017.
PLEASE NOTE THIS OPPORTUNITY DOES NOT INCLUDE CATERING, TRAVEL OR ACCOMMODATION.
